Homes and cottages we’d love to have — whether we can afford them or not

Key details:
• 8,711 sq. ft.
• 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms
• Pavilion
• Guesthouse
• $6 million
• Nicole Van Parys and Gary Nesen, Engel & Volkers, 818.889.1602

The property exemplifies Southern California living at its best. The single-storey home is spacious, yet warm. The kitchen’s been remodelled. And it’s well designed for entertaining. Notice the fine detail on the ceiling. Paneled walls add to the atmosphere of the den. The home also features distressed wood floors. The gym is in a separate building. A lot of thought went into all of the details.
